Melanie reflects on the start of a new school year and invites families to pause, breathe, and celebrate together. She shares her vision for PEN as a vital community resource that supports parental wellness and strengthens families, highlighting Celebrate Together! ¡Celebrando Juntos! as an opportunity to connect, have fun, and discover local resources. She also looks ahead to PEN’s next chapter of expanded programming in Longmont and the early childhood community.
Take a deep breath. We made it. School has begun. Whew!
After taking a moment to breathe, get ready to celebrate with PEN!
Please join us in marking the collective accomplishment of making it to the next school year. Our Fall Kickoff Event, the second annual Celebrate Together! ¡Celebrando Juntos!, is coming up this Saturday, September 12th from 10am to 1pm.
This is a call for all families to join us for a day of entertainment, food, fun and games and an introduction to (or a reminder of) all the amazing resources available in our area to support parents on our journeys, both personal and familial.
As I’ve said before, I have a big vision for PEN. I believe it is one of THE most important resources in our community. Not only because of its track record of bringing together the brilliant resources available to parents in our area, but because parental wellness is key to a healthy family and healthy community.
Celebrate Together! ¡Celebrando Juntos is a chance to gather in community to enjoy delicious food, play (you too, parents!), dance and remind each other how precious we all are.
With the generous support of the City of Longmont, Colorado Trust, and Denver Foundation, this event is co-created with PEN, the Institute for Strengthening Families and Early Childhood Council of Boulder County. It is being hosted at the brand new gorgeous TLC Learning Center building in Longmont. As we endeavor to offer more programming in Longmont and also expand to serve more of the early childhood community, Celebrate Together! ¡Celebrando Juntos will be a fabulous step into our next chapter. I hope to see you all there!
If you can’t make this event, we have a full line-up of incredible programs and activities this fall. Be sure to check them all out at https://parentengagementnetwork.org/events/.
Wishing you and your families a wonderful, ease-filled transition into autumn.
In solidarity with parents,

Melanie Piazza
