Linking environmental knowledge with career choices of young people in Boulder County
When: Wednesday, October 3, 4:30 – 6:30 pm

Cost: $15 for public / $10 for teachers and counselors

The workshop will cover the following areas and more:
– Case studies of how people in manufacturing, finance, hospitality and others incorporate environmental knowledge and concern.
– Specific environmental principals at the core of all careers.
– Moving beyond “green jobs” to the entire economies influence.
– Thoughts from a section of Richard Louv’s book The Nature Principle,
entitled “Making a Living and a Life”
– A review of available resources for implementing the ALL Careers approach.
– Discussion and exercises to help formulate next steps in Boulder County.
The purpose of this workshop is to demonstrate first steps towards making connections between environmental knowledge/concern and ALL careers especially at, but not limited to, the high school level. This workshop is designed for teachers, career counselors, parents and others in Boulder County who are interested in learning about and helping to advance this ALL careers approach in
schools and elsewhere. Students who desire to be leaders in advancing the ALL careers approach are also very welcome.
