More about Presentation Topic:
How we experience and cope with stress can change the ways that it impacts our bodies, minds and emotions. Taking active steps to reduce stress can help us balance our emotional reactions. With an active approach, we can work toward creating a positive view of stress and we can cultivate more constructive, beneficial coping strategies. In this workshop, we will review the physiological stress reaction to understand how stress might impact the body and the brain. We will also explore ways to regulate our emotional reactivity and address specific strategies to reduce stress such as exercise, mindfulness/meditation practices, and other distress tolerance skills. Cultivating a positive mindset towards stress reduces its damaging impacts and encourages us to be more proactive toward behavioral changes that help us to feel more balanced and attuned in the moment.
